Daniela Mandu

Hello, I am Daniela Mandu, the founder of the Cusut cu Ață Roz brand.

I am an entrepreneur in home textiles – curtains, drapes, bed linen, embroidered tablecloths and table runners – all created with care, elegance and passion.

My story

Hello, I am Daniela Mandu, the founder of Cusut cu Ață Roz, and I create bed linen personalised with embroidery for those who appreciate understated luxury and absolute comfort. “I don’t know about others”, but ever since childhood I seem to have had, deep in my soul, in my mind and in my creativity, a love for thread and cloth.

As a schoolgirl, I sewed a white cotton pillowcase and embroidered it with white silk thread – simplicity and innocence woven together from cotton and silk.

Was this the drop that later became a spring, or was it the echo of what “ton sur ton” means, spilling over a skill that, without knowing it, I already had in my hands?

In 2010, many homes began to be enriched with our home textiles, as that old spark slowly turned into a flame. The holidays became poetry written in cloth and fabric, in colours and emotion, and many of us were lulled to sleep by special bed linen in which the thread had woven countless dreams.

A few of my favourite creations

“A restful sleep begins with the right details. And bed linen is not just an accessory – it is a statement of style and refinement.”

Behind the scenes of my life

  1. Who am I, and who am I not?

I am an ordinary person, raised in the mountains near Piatra Craiului, a lover of people, flowers and everything beautiful. I grew up in a country house, learned to tend the flowers in the garden, to recognise plants by their leaves and flowers, to give in relationships, to be loyal and to keep my word, even when it sometimes costs me.

  2. What brings me joy?

Smiling, happy, optimistic people who effortlessly radiate love and joy around them.

  3. What saddens me?

Children who cry, children who suffer. I feel overwhelmed by helplessness – and by the lessons they sometimes teach us, the grown-ups.

  4. What lessons has life taught me?

To stop having expectations and to learn to take people as they are, because I surely have something to learn from each of them.

  5. Which mistakes would I not repeat?

I have made a few mistakes and I am glad I went through them. That is the only way I learned and became who I am!

I have learned not to do things in other people’s place, and not before they ask for my help. I help better, more specifically and more usefully when someone asks me – and then I help with great joy.
